Someone recently asked me ‘what do you mean by meditation?’. I often hear references to ‘real’ meditation or ‘true’ meditation. Who is to say what is or is not meditation? I replied with my usual response along the lines that for me, meditation is about living with awareness. There are so many layers here, from what it means to be present, to actually experience the breath, as well as the nature of universal consciousness. While I think all are relevant, something key for me, if meditation has a role to play, it is in deeply listening. At least that’s why I practice – and the world seems more navigable when I do!
It's so easy to talk about that, share it, and completely step over my own listening! So, I’ve been doing just that – listening - and have decided that for now, it’s right for me to pause from offering my Monday Morning Meditations and Pause Days.
The reason is more of a feeling than something I can explain with clarity. Something is telling me to pause, spend time in my own practice, realign and then, well, see what emerges. My hope is that you also find some space for your listening.
The packaged recordings of my Monday Morning meditations are a great way to stay connected to the practice the live sessions are on pause. They allow you to enjoy flexible access in your own time.
I ask for a small contribution for each 6-week collection and offer you the chance to choose the amount that feels right for you: £10, £20, or £30.
"You have a wonderful gift of making the complicated sound simple, and of doing it in such a non ego like way... It’s really excellent."
“Meditation with Will on a Monday morning gives me an anchor, holding to the theme he uses to open up possibility." (LW)
“Will's Monday morning meditation is, in fact, a gateway to communication with oneself in service of finding the gap, the silence between thoughts, and the creation of new possibilities. Since joining, my sense of clarity and the creation of inner peace has significantly improved, for which I am eternally grateful. The sessions also allow me to reflect and connect deeply with my true self. The practice further encourages me to be mindful and promotes my personal growth, making it a valuable start to the week with intention.” (MS)
Will first began meditating as a student over 25 years ago, learning mindfulness and loving kindness meditations. After a long gap, and revitalised by yoga practices, Will came back to meditation as an important practice to both navigate and celebrate all that life offers.
